Welcome!
The Academy is a free, year-round program for 6th-12th graders enrolled in Waukegan Schools.

What we provide: Academic tutoring and homework help, one-on-one mentoring, a safe learning environment, field trips, incentives for academic achievement, and athletic training.

What we ask of families: Communication and collaboration, prioritize academics, high expectations for students.

Is there a cost to participate?

No, The Academy program is free.

What ages/grades may participate?

The Academy is for 6th–12th graders enrolled in Waukegan schools. New students join us in middle school and stay through high school.

Where does The Academy host its program?

The Academy is held at John Lewis Middle School in Waukegan. Students from other Waukegan middle schools may participate, as well.

How do I register my child?

Please contact us and we can share more details about The Academy and the registration process.

How long is the program?

We run two program cycles yearly.

1. School Year Program (September-May)
The after-school program runs from 2:15pm until 4:30 Monday through Thursday.

2. Summer Program
The summer program runs daily from 9:00am until 2:00pm Monday through Friday for eight weeks.

Is there a uniform? Do they cost money?

The Academy does not have a uniform. Jerseys, shirts, and sweatshirts are provided to all enrolled students at no cost to families.

How often does the program occur?

The after school program occurs Monday through Thursday and the Summer program occurs Monday through Friday for eight weeks.

Can I register multiple children?

Absolutely! We love having siblings in the program and staying connected to families.
